We are pleased to announce the release of version 2.1.0. The following features are now available in GovBooks.
Bookmarked Reports
When you create a report in GovBooks, you have the option to save the report as a Bookmark so that you can quickly view it again using the same filters and parameters. We have improved this feature to include:
Consolidated List of Bookmarks. Your Bookmarked Reports can now be found in two locations; as before, in the top report control line under the Bookmark icon on each individual report. And now, also listed with all of your other Bookmarks in the Reports module, in the screen called Bookmarked Reports, where you will find not only all of your Bookmarks but also those Bookmarks shared with you by other GovBooks Users. Save time by finding all your Bookmarked Reports in one place.
Shared Bookmarks. You may now share your Bookmarked Reports with other GovBooks Users by selecting them when saving the Bookmark. The other User must have the Permission "Reports - Bookmark Reports" added to their Role in order to view shared Bookmarks in the Reports Module in the Bookmarked Reports screen. Design custom reports and share them with your colleagues.
Custom Report Titles. When saving a Bookmark, you now have the option to create a custom report title which will make it easier to recall the information contained in the report. Create custom reports and save them with custom report title for easy recall.
Pay Cycle - Labor Distribution
When you create a labor distribution in GovBooks, you select a Pay Cycle to perform calculations on timesheet data and compensation amounts to distribute labor costs among the projects and general ledger accounts associated with the timesheets.
Pay Cycle Type. Four types of Pay Cycles are now available; weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly. In the previous version, the Pay Cycle Type was determined by the Pay Cycle Name which required a certain format. Now, you are able use any Pay Cycle Name as long as it is unique. This allows you to have more than one Pay Cycle for any given type. For instance, you can have two or more bi-weekly Pay Cycles as long as each has a different name. To better organize your Pay Cycles, we have added a new column, Pay Cycle Type.
Company Profit and Loss Report
We have added a new feature to the Company Profit and Loss Report which allows you to calculate and show EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization).
EBITDA. You now have the option to display EBITDA on the Company Profit and Loss Report. You are able to select which general ledger accounts to exclude from Net Income to compute EBITDA, which is an important profit measure used to determine the value an enterprise by applying a multiple to annual EBITDA. What is your enterprise value and how much can you sell your company for?
Account Assignment
General ledger accounts are imported from QuickBooks Online and then assigned to indirect rate pools and bases in order to compute indirect rates. We have added filters to the Account Assignment screen to make it easier to view the general ledger accounts.
Show All. Click this button to see all general ledger accounts.
Excluded. Click this button to see only general ledger accounts that have been excluded from the indirect rate pools and bases.
View Only Unassigned. Click this button to see only general ledger accounts that have not been assigned to indirect rate pools and bases and also not excluded.
Chart of Accounts
The Chart of Accounts Report uses the information in the Account Assignment screen to organize your general ledger accounts into sections that relate to indirect rate pools, providing a cleaner presentation when compared to a similar report in QuickBooks Online. To help display the Chart of Accounts in various formats, we have added the following filters:
Show Accounts. Select All, Active or Inactive to change the display.
Display Excluded. Select Yes or No to display general ledger accounts that have been excluded from the indirect rate pools and bases.
